Enschede700 Foundation has announced their first two awards for the 2025 celebration!
The first award is for Theatre Productions Foundation. It is organizing a large-scale, connective theater spectacle called DOOR HET STOF for 2025. A performance in which the history of Enschede is relived with a story about rich and poor, in which professionals and amateurs work together and in which the whole city is connected. DOOR HET STOF tells the story of Alphons Ariëns, of rich and poor, of love and resistance. 42,000 visitors over 30 performances are expected. The second award is for the theater production Van Heek and the Tukkers. Led by Henry Workel, former neighborhood cop and co-organizer of the Pond Fridays, stories from the neighborhoods will be collected. These stories form the basis for the performance that will travel through several Enschede neighborhoods. Each performance is tailored to the specific neighborhood. Prior to the performance, visitors and local residents will have dinner together and share their stories. Several rounds of judging for different categories will follow. The deadline for the next round of reviews is before June 1.
