In order to distribute available funds fairly among applicants, we use a distribution key. A minimum of 1 million euros is available to make it a celebration. Please note that in this overview we do not yet take into account additional income from sponsorships. Before each round of judging, we will announce the total amount for that round.
How do we evaluate the incoming applications?
To ensure that everything is fair, we use the same evaluation criteria for all applications. These evaluation criteria are designed to assess the quality and relevance of applications. The assessment criteria can be found here.
Additional round of assessment (March ’24)
-Large public events: €450,000 (* PLEASE NOTE: this is the maximum amount available for this round of assessment and that of June)
Deadline for submission was Sunday, March 10, 2024.
Assessment Round 1 (June ’24): € 660,000
-Small local (neighborhood) initiatives: € 10,000
-Collaborations: € 200,000
-Large public events: € 450,000 (* NOTE: this is the maximum amount available for the additional assessment round and this assessment round)
Deadline for submission was Friday, May 31, 2024.
Assessment Round 2 (October ’24): € 100,000
-Small local (neighborhood) initiatives: € 50,000
-Collaborations: € 50,000
-Large public events: € 0*
*(unless there are funds left over from Round 1 and there is demand for them)
Deadline for submission was Monday, Sept. 30, 2024.
Assessment Round 3 (January ’25): € 75,000
-Small local (neighborhood) initiatives: € 75,000
-Collaborations: € 0*
-Large public events: € 0
Deadline for submission is Monday, Jan. 13, 2025.
Small local (neighborhood) initiatives can also apply after January until September 2025. These are reviewed monthly as long as funds are available.
Reservation opening and closing party: €200,000
PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, the ‘Collaborations’ category has been closed for the assessment round in January 2025 . Due to the high volume of applications in October, which far exceeded the available budget of €775,000, it was decided to move the €10,000 budget to October to support more projects. We continue to actively seek additional funding for this category and will share updates on this via the website .
